Exquisite is HDPI/Retina Ready so it’s recommended to use high resolution images for the best results on every device, but they have to be small sized as well for the optimal page speed. You should use images that resolution is higher than 2880x2160px for featured images, but also their size is smaller than 300-400kb. The system generates all of the different image sizes in normal and retina resolution automatically, you just need to make sure your image is large enough to do it. If your image resolution is not large enough for retina images, the theme uses the normal versions instead. You can use our Photoshop Components (included in the theme package) to know exactly what size you should use for certain areas and style them to look just like in the concepts. We recommend to use http://compressjpeg.com/ for compress your images.
Note: Make sure you’re using at least 800x500px featured images, otherwise WordPress cannot crop them properly.
